KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal inaugurated the Hetauda-Dhalkebar-Inaruwa 400 KV transmission line on Friday.

The inauguration ceremony took place at the Hetauda substation of the transmission line project in Thanabharyang, Hetauda Sub-Metropolitan City-11, Makawanpur.

The event was organized by the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA).

The 400 KV substation is Nepal’s third-largest of its kind. The transmission line is expected to strengthen and ensure a reliable power transmission system in the country, facilitating uninterrupted energy trade between Nepal and India.

Officials stated that with the completion of the 154-kilometer-long double circuit power grid, up to 4,000 megawatts of power could be supplied through this line.

Additionally, 220 KV and 132/11 KV substations in Thanabharyang, part of the Nepal-India Transmission and Trade Project, were also activated, according to the NEA.
