Nepali Army wins gold medal in Exercise Cambrian Patrol 2024

KATHMANDU: The Nepali Army (NA) has won a gold medal in this year’s Exercise Cambrian Patrol 2024, held in Wales, United Kingdom.

The event, which took place from October 9 to 11, saw the NA squad clinch the top honor among a total of 121 international teams representing 37 countries, including Britain, according to the NA Directorate of Public Relations and Information.

The NA has participated in this prestigious annual event, which has been ongoing since 1960, for the past 24 years.

The Exercise challenges participants to complete a 50-kilometer course while carrying logistics weighing approximately 50 pounds over two days, showcasing skills in combat preparation, information gathering, and injury and illness management.

This marks the third time the NA has secured gold in the Exercise, having previously won in 2017 and 2019.

The event, conducted across the rugged terrain of Brecon Beacons, is regarded as the toughest patrol test of the British Army. Major General Deepak Kumar Baniya attended the award distribution ceremony.
