Three siblings die of suspected food poisoning in Parsa

PARSA: Three children from the family of Naresh Ram in Jhawani Tole, Simraungadh Municipality-7, Bara, have tragically died due to suspected food poisoning.

According to Bara Police, the deceased siblings—Lalima Ram, 7, Pushpa Ram, 7, and Ramnandan Ram, 5—fell ill after consuming a meal on Sunday night.

The family had eaten rice and curry made from fish harvested from a local pond.

However, only the children were affected, while their mother and grandparents, who ate the same meal, did not show any symptoms, stated Deputy Superintendent of Police Prakash Sapkota of the District Police Office.

Preliminary investigations have not found any toxic substances in the home.

Authorities are exploring the possibility that the children may have consumed something else before their evening meal.

Inspector Nabin Rai of the Area Police Office reported that the children were initially taken to a local polyclinic after complaining of health complications.

They were then transferred to the Provincial Hospital in Kalaiya, Bara, where one child died en route.

The remaining two children were referred to the National Medical College in Birgunj, where they passed away during treatment.

Autopsies have been completed, and the bodies have been returned to the family. Their father, Naresh Ram, is currently in Punjab, India, for work.
