Engineer of Lumbini Development Trust sentenced to six years for corruption



KATHMANDU: Saroj Bhattarai, an engineer with the Lumbini Development Trust, has been sentenced to six years in prison following his conviction in a corruption case.

The Special Court issued the full verdict today.

Bhattarai was initially convicted on June 6.

In addition to his prison sentence, the court has ordered him to pay a fine of Rs 8,000,000.

The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) had filed the case against Bhattarai, accusing him of illegally amassing wealth.
