Nepal braces for above-average rainfall and temperature rise, warns Hydrology Department



KATHMANDU: Nepal is anticipated to experience above-average rainfall and a rise in temperature this year, as per the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology.

The department stated, “There is a 35 to 55 percent likelihood of experiencing higher-than-average rainfall this year.”

Similarly, there is a 35 to 65 percent chance of witnessing an increase in temperature compared to the average for this year, according to the department’s predictions.

Moreover, the department has issued a warning regarding a potential surge in monsoon-related disasters in the country, driven by the anticipated increase in rainfall and temperature.

Typically, the monsoon season spans from June 10 to September 23.
