Nature guide killed in rhino attack in Chitwan National Park



BHARATPUR: A tragic incident unfolded today as a nature guide lost his life in a rhino attack in Chitwan National Park on Saturday.

The victim, identified as Subas Regmi, aged 32, was guiding tourists from the elephant breeding center to the buffer zone forest area in the western part of the park when the rhino attacked him at 11:50 am.

Originally from Aarughat rural municipality, Gorkha, Regmi was residing in Ratnanagar municipality-6, Chitwan.

Despite receiving immediate medical attention, he succumbed to his injuries this afternoon at Chitwan Medical College, as confirmed by Shriram Bhanari, the Spokesperson at the District Police Office, Chitwan.

Regmi was employed as a nature guide at Jungle World Resort, Sauraha.

Ganesh Prasad Tiwari, the information officer at Chitwan National Park, stated that Regmi was a licensed nature guide.

Fortunately, no tourists were harmed in the incident.

Regmi’s body has been transferred to Bharatpur Hospital for post-mortem examination.
