SURKHET: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Defense, Purna Bahadur Khadka has lauded the Nepal Army for its contributions to the search, rescue, relief distribution, and rehabilitation of Jajarkot and Rukum (West) earthquake survivors.

Inspecting the NA’s North-Western Division Headquarters, Surkhet, he highly appreciated the contributions and professional efficiency of the Army and thanked the NA for the same on his and the government’s behalf, his secretariat said.

“Despite limited resources, means and facilities, the NA has been devoted to the service of the nation and the people. The Nepal government has realized the problems and complications being faced by the NA in the course of its performance”, DPM Khadka said.

Khadka assured that the government would gradually resolve the complications in the coming days.

DPM Khadka shared that a process has been taken ahead to provide necessary land to the NA for the construction of a training unit, barrack, and hospital in Karnali province and Surkhet district.

As a custodian of national security, the NA has not limited its contributions within the country but also made a laudable presence in peacekeeping missions in different conflict-ridden countries of the world under the UN leadership.
