NSP calls Executive Committee meeting to amend party statute

KATHMANDU: Nepal Samajwadi Party (NSP) has announced the convening of “crucial” meetings to address amendments and approvals to its statute.

Party’s General Secretary Ramesh Prasad Yadav said that the central executive meeting is scheduled for February 2, while the Central Committee meeting is set to take place on February 3.

“The primary agenda of the central executive meeting is the amendment of the party’s statute. Subsequently, the Central Committee meeting will be convened to endorse the revised statute,” General Secretary Yadav said.

In a preceding Central Committee meeting on February 2, a two-member drafting committee, comprising lawyers Krishna Sharma and Harindra Yadav, has been formed to spearhead the amendment process.

General Secretary Yadav highlighted that the committee is actively engaged in drafting the proposed amendments.

The responsibility of finalizing the draft has been entrusted to Yadav himself, along with co-chairman Ganga Shrestha and Vice-Chairperson Hishila Yami.

Despite the initial proposal of 301 central committees in the draft, efforts are underway to streamline and reduce their number.
