KATHMANDU: Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has decided to reconnect the power supply to industries that had previously been cut off due to unpaid trunk and dedicated line fees.

NEA spokesperson Chandan Kumar Ghosh said the decision was made at a board meeting on Tuesday. He noted that, following a directive from the Ministry of Energy and a recent Cabinet decision, the NEA board approved a plan to reconnect the power lines to industries while continuing to collect outstanding fees.

“There is no dispute about reconnecting the lines for the industries. The decision has been finalized, and the board has endorsed the government’s plan to collect overdue charges,” Ghosh told Khabarhub.
