Improving public services is in priority: Karnali CM Kandel

KARNALI: Chief Minister (CM) of Karnali provincial government, Yamlal Kandel, has said that improvement in public services has been prioritized.

Chief Minister Kandel, who arrived in Dailekh to hold discussions with the people’s representatives and the employees of the district, said in a meeting with journalists today that the people will get to experience the presence of the State only if the service delivery is transparent, prompt and effective.

Stating that road accidents have resulted in a big loss of lives and property in Karnali due to the lack of public awareness, he stressed on raising the public awareness level to mitigate the disasters and road accidents.

According to the Chief Minister, the provincial government shall gear up for plan formulation in a methodical way and making their implementation more effective maintaining transparency and completing the stalled development projects in time from the coming year.

Acknowledging that several works have not been carried out as per the public’s aspirations, he cautioned against making one’s opinion on the basis of the comments that appear on social sites.

“I have to fulfill my responsibility. The service providers should provide services without taking extra charge. All should cooperate in the positive works. Solidarity is needed from the citizen’s level up to the policy level in development construction works,” Chief Minister Kandel stressed.

Noting that it would not be necessary to immediately carry out works for the storage and processing of petroleum products in Dailekh, as only petroleum drilling works are underway at present, he said it would be supportive to the economy and development of whole Karnali, including Dailekh, if the expected volume of petroleum well was found from the current petroleum exploration in the district.
