Two girls die of electric shocks in Hetauda



HETAUDA: Two girls died from electric shocks on Saturday in Chisapani, Hetauda Submetropolis-16 in Makawanpur.

The victims are a nine-year-old girl from Nijgadh Municipality-1 in Bara and a seven-year-old girl from Hetauda Submetropolis-16, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police Shyam Aryal, spokesperson for the District Police Office, Makawanpur.

The girls received electric shocks after touching stagnant water at the base of an iron pole.

The incident was caused by the snapping of an 11 kV Pin insulator near the Covered Hall, which led to a short circuit on the pole.

Both girls fell unconscious after the shock and later died while receiving treatment at Hetauda Hospital.

The identities of the deceased have not been revealed, and an investigation into the incident is underway.
