KATHMANDU: In the final match of the bilateral one-day series, Nepal has got a target of 233 runs against Canada on Monday.
Nepal has already bagged the series against Canada with two consecutive victories.
Canadian opener Navneet Dhaliwal scored a half-century and after losing the toss, Canada reached a total of 232 runs, losing eight wickets in the stipulated 50 overs.
Canada’s aggressive opening batsman Dhaliwal scored the most runs, making more than 50 runs. Before being caught by Lalit Narayan Rajbanshi off Aakash Chand for 82 runs in 82 balls, he hit five boundaries.
Nikhil Dutta added 45 runs with two boundaries and one six in 62 balls. Captain Saad Bin Zafar, who presented an aggressive innings, scored an unbeaten 31 runs with three boundaries and two sixes in just 15 balls.
Harsh Thaker contributed 29 runs in 57 balls with two boundaries. Shreyas Movva added 25, and Shrimantha
vijeyeratne contributed 22 runs.
Nepal’s ‘debutant’ Hemant Dhami took three wickets.
Bowling in eight overs, Hemant spent 49 runs and dismissed Canada’s openers Aaron Johnson, Dillon Heyliger, and Shreyans Movva.
Kushal Malla took two wickets. Malla, with an economical bowling spell, bowled ten overs, giving away only 38 runs and taking two wickets.
Lalit Narayan Rajbanshi and Aakash Chand also took one wicket each.
Playing three matches in the series, Canada had lost both of the previous games. In the first game, Nepal secured a seven-run victory, and in the second, a four-wicket win.
