Nepal Police Club lifts National Volleyball Championship title

KARNALI: Nepal Police Club has clinched the title of the 34th National Volleyball Championship organised in Birendranagar, Surkhet, the capital of Karnali Province.

Police Club lifted the trophy after defeating the Armed Police Force (APF) 3-1 (three sets) in a the final match held today. APF team beat Police Club 25-22 in the first set. However, Police Club trounced APF in the second, third and fourth straight sets and clinched the title. Police’s score in the three latter sets was 25-19, 25-18 and 25-23 respectively.

Police Club had faced defeat to APF in the group stage matches, but won the final match. APF had beaten Police Club in a set of 3-1.

Similarly, Gandaki Province, which faced a drubbing of 0-3 in straight set in the hand of Army in the group stage match, trounced the Army in the final match for the third place. Gandaki beat the Army by 3-1 sets and won the third place.

Rabin Chand of Nepal Police Club has been declared the best player of the Championship organized by Nepal Volleyball Association under the management of Karnali Province Volleyball Association.

Ten teams, including three departmental teams and seven provincial teams, competed in the Championship that commenced from January 5.
