PM Oli inaugurates building at his alma mater

PANCHTHAR: Prime Minister KP Oli today inaugurated a newly-constructed building of the Pranami Secondary School at Iwa of Aathrai rural municipality-4 in Tehrathum district, where he took his basic education.

PM Oli cut the ribbon and inaugurated the school building having 18 rooms. He also interacted with students, teachers and local people on the occasion.

School Head Teacher Amrit Bahadur Budhathoki said the school records show that PM Oli had studied up to Class 3 at the school.

The new building was constructed with support of the South Korea-based Um Hong Gil Human Foundation.

The Foundation provided Rs 44 million 960 thousand, the Koshi Province Government Rs 2 million 140 thousand and the Aathrai rural municipality Rs 6.9 million for the construction of the school building.

School Management Committee Chairperson Bhim Ghimire had requested to PM Oli to take initiative to manage funds for construction of a new building after it became difficult to run classes in the old building.

He said it became possible to construct the new building after the Foundation bore the major cost of the building at Prime Minister Oli’s request.

Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Nepal, Park Tae-Young and Foundation’s Park Yu Sun among other dignitaries were present on the occasion.
