JANAKPURDHAM: Chief Minister (CM) of Madhesh Province, Satish Kumar Singh, has emphasized the need for a public administration that is clean, competent, fair, transparent, and accountable to the public.

He expressed the state government’s commitment to ensuring that people have equal and easy access to state-provided services.

Speaking at an interaction program on the National Strategy and Action Plan 2081 against corruption in Janakpurdham on Wednesday, Chief Minister Singh highlighted that good governance, development, and prosperity are the state government’s top priorities.

He underscored that, as a party to the United Nations Convention against Corruption, all levels of government in Nepal must implement the national strategy and action plan against corruption.

Chief Minister Singh assured that the state government will take policy, legal, and institutional measures to enforce these anti-corruption strategies.

Acknowledging the challenge of establishing an ethical society while combating various forms of corruption, he assured that the government will deploy maximum resources and mechanisms to strengthen and make the anti-corruption campaign effective.

To reduce corruption risks, Chief Minister Singh suggested that the provincial government identify high-risk areas and install CCTVs in offices and agencies with a high volume of customers.

He mentioned that steps are already being taken in this direction.

He also announced that the campaign against employee absenteeism and delays in government work has been intensified and made it clear that he will not hesitate to take action against employees who are tardy in performing their duties.
