KATHMANDU: On Friday, the Supreme Court refrained from issuing an interim order regarding the writ filed against the government in Koshi Province, following the suspension of the Parliament session.

The same day, the House of Representatives meeting was postponed due to the obstruction by the Nepali Congress.

Continuous slogans raised by the Nepali Congress led to the adjournment of the meeting for the second time.

Speaker Devraj Ghimire announced the adjournment until May 14, removing all scheduled programs from the agenda and rescheduling the meeting.

In another development, Dr. Beduram Bhusal, a Member of Parliament from the Unified Socialist, emphasized the importance of a progressive budget for the upcoming financial year, aiming to propel the nation forward.

Meanwhile, discussions in political circles hint at possible splits within other small parties following the division of the Janata Samajwadi Party led by Upendra Yadav.

Addressing the party’s stance in the National Assembly meeting, MP Bhusal stressed the need for societal reforms in the budgetary preparations for the next fiscal year.

Likewise, KP Sharma Oli, Chairman of CPN-UML, declared no objection to the Nepali Congress appointing Madhav Kumar Nepal as Prime Minister.

During Friday’s UML parliamentary party meeting, Oli suggested that the Nepali Congress might nominate the Chairman of the United Socialist Party as Prime Minister.

On Friday itself, twenty-five decisions taken during a cabinet meeting held at the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers’ office were disclosed to the public.

Meanwhile, discussions in political circles hint at possible splits within other small parties following the division of the Janata Samajwadi Party led by Upendra Yadav.

Similarly, in yet another development, the Supreme Court declined to issue an interim order in a writ filed by outgoing Chief Minister Kedar Karki against the formation of the Koshi government.

Instead, a show cause order was issued in the name of the opposition.

In another event, a 37-year-old man named Bijay Kumar Limbu, hailing from Sunsari’s Dharan sub-municipality-5, was apprehended at Tribhuvan International Airport for carrying 50 grams of illegal gold.

The Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office made the arrest based on information that Limbu had smuggled the gold from Qatar.
