Home Minister rejects allegations of mistreatment of Rabi

Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak has stated that there are efforts to influence the investigation into Rabi Lamichhane’s involvement in the cooperative case.

Speaking to journalists in Surkhet on Tuesday, Minister Lekhak noted that efforts are being made to sway the investigation by surrounding the district police and government attorney’s offices while the case is still under review.

He also alleged that Lamichhane and members of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) have been taking actions to influence the investigation.

Eight die in Rautahat jeep accident

Eight people were killed and five others injured in a jeep accident in Rautahat district this morning.

The jeep (Ba 16 Cha 3162), which was traveling from Gadhimai in Bara to Rautahat, crashed at Lamaha along the East-West Highway.

According to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Raj Kumar Rai, the passengers were returning home after performing a puja at the Gadhimai Temple.

Lumbini Lions end losing streak with 33-run victory over Chitwan Rhinos

Standard Chartered Bank Nepal appoints first Nepali CEO

For the first time in its history, Standard Chartered Bank Nepal has appointed a Nepali as its Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

At a board meeting held last evening, the bank announced the appointment of Gorakh Rana, who was previously the Deputy CEO, as its new CEO.

Rana is the first Nepali to hold the position of CEO at Standard Chartered Bank Nepal.
