BANKE: Patients at Bheri Hospital are facing significant difficulties after the hospital’s CT scan machine broke down nearly a month ago.

Radheshyam Tharu, a patient from Taratal in Bardiya’s Madhuwan Municipality, expressed his frustration with the situation.

“I brought a patient here expecting proper healthcare services, but the essential CT scan machine was out of order. I had to take my sick relative elsewhere for the scan,” he shared.

Bheri Hospital, located in Banke, serves patients referred from the Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim Provinces. The malfunctioning of the CT scan machine has severely impacted its ability to provide necessary diagnostic services.

Hospital Superintendent Dr. Prakash Thapa stated that efforts are being made to restore the service.

He also briefed Health Secretary Dr. Roshan Pokharel, who is currently visiting Nepalgunj, about the issue and requested new medical equipment.

However, Secretary Dr. Pokharel responded that the procurement of a new CT scan machine is not feasible at the moment, making the maintenance of the existing machine essential.
