UML instructs to complete district conventions by mid-November



KATHMANDU: The CPN-UML secretariat meeting has instructed the 11 district committees to hold its convention by coming mid-November.

Deputy General Secretary Pradeep Gyawali shared that the secretariat meeting held today at the party’s central office at Chyasal, Lalitpur decided to give instructions to complete the convention in 11 districts by the end of Kartik or mid-November.

Earlier, the party UML had instructed all the 77 district committees to hold the convention by the mid-June, but the convention was completed only in 66 districts.

Conventions are yet to be held in Ilam, Morang, Tehrathum, Saptari, Siraha, Dhanusha, Manang, Dolpa, Doti, Achham and Bajhang districts.

Similarly, the secretariat meeting also instructed all the districts to renew the party membership within mid-August and send it to the central office mid-September.

Meanwhile, the party has also held discussions on reviewing the responsibilities of the central committee members.
