Nepali Congress stresses internal unity, pledges to tackle upcoming challenges together

KATHMANDU: The Nepali Congress has decided to maintain unity and mutual goodwill within the party and move forward collectively to face upcoming challenges, including elections.

The decision was taken at a meeting of the party’s Central Working Committee held in Kathmandu on Saturday, which also resolved to appeal to party leaders and cadres across the country to remain united and work together to take the party to new heights.

Party spokesperson Devaraj Chalise said the meeting concluded that challenges such as elections can only be addressed through internal harmony, cooperation, and unity. According to him, the Nepali Congress will now fully focus on election-oriented activities.

The meeting also decided to express gratitude and high appreciation for the contributions made by outgoing party president Sher Bahadur Deuba. Spokesperson Chalise said the meeting expressed confidence that Deuba, along with other senior leaders, would continue to play a guardian role within the party in the days ahead.

Similarly, the meeting voiced confidence that the outgoing Central Working Committee and senior leaders would continue to make significant contributions to further strengthen the party.

Chalise also informed that the ticket distribution process will be carried out through the parliamentary board. He added that as the party has already received official recognition in line with the party statute and the constitution, there is no need to maintain differing positions on the issue.
