BIRATNAGAR: A special session of the Province Assembly of Koshi has been summoned for April 18.

Koshi Province Chief Parashuram Khapung, at the request of more than a quarter of the provincial assembly members, has called for the special session at 1 pm on April 18.

Earlier, Chief Minister Kedar Karki’s government had recommended May 24 for the assembly session.

However, in response to the demand made by lawmakers from the CPN-UML and CPN-Maoist Center to convene a special session of the assembly, the province chief has summoned the session more than one month before the province government’s recommended schedule.
