KATHMANDU: The lively atmosphere of Bhaktapur Durbar Square sets the stage for the commencement of the renowned Bisket Jatra, bringing together locals and visitors in vibrant celebrations.

With its deep-rooted cultural and historical significance, the festival unfolds over nine days and eight nights, evoking joy and excitement among participants.

The festivities kick off with the ceremonial pulling of the chariot of Bhaila Kha (Bhairavnath) from the iconic Panchtalle (five-storey) temple located in Taumadhi.

Crafted in the traditional pagoda style, the three-storey wooden chariot embarks on a procession through the upper and lower settlements, adorned with striking statues of Bhairavnath and Betal.
