Three batsmen score half-centuries as Nepal secures victory against Canada



KATHMANDU: In the second One Day International (ODI) cricket match against Canada, Nepal emerged victorious by four wickets at the TU Cricket Ground.

Canada set a target of 286 runs, and Nepal achieved it in 45 overs.

Captain Rohit Paudel contributed significantly, scoring 87 runs in 101 balls, including 8 fours and 4 sixes. Dev Khanal, the U-19 team captain, added 76 runs, showcasing an impressive performance with 7 fours and 2 sixes.

Furthermore, Anil Sah played a crucial inning, scoring a half-century with 50 runs. Bhim Sarki also contributed with 23 runs. For Canada, Ishwarjot Sohi and Harsh Thaker took two wickets each.

In their innings, Canada posted a target of 286 runs, with Aaron Johnson being the top scorer with 65 runs off 62 balls. Navneet Dhaliwal added 46 runs, while Shreyas Movva and Paragat Singh scored 40 and 38 runs, respectively.

Nepal’s bowlers displayed a collective effort, with Captain Rohit Paudel and Kushal Malla taking two wickets each, while Sompal Kami, Surya Tamang, Akash Chand, and Pawan Sarraf claimed one wicket each.

With this victory, Nepal has secured the series win ahead of the third game scheduled on Monday at the TU Cricket Ground.
