HoR and National Assembly meetings taking place today



KATHMANDU: Both Houses of the Federal Parliament are scheduled to convene today. The House of Representatives (HoR) will meet at 11:00 am at the multipurpose hall of the under-construction Federal Parliament Building in Singha Durbar.

According to the agenda, a proposal to formally endorse Dol Prasad Aryal, Deputy Chairman of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), as Speaker will be presented. Aryal was elected unopposed on Friday.

The proposal has been put forward by RSP Chairman and lawmaker Rabi Lamichhane, with support from MPs Swarnim Wagle, Sobita Gautam, and Sunil Lamsal.

Similarly, the National Assembly is scheduled to meet at 12:15 pm at Singha Durbar. The meeting will include nominations and reshuffling of members in thematic committees. The Chair will also nominate members to preside over meetings in the absence of the Chairperson and Vice-Chairperson.

As per the agenda, Prime Minister Balendra Shah will present the annual report of the National Women’s Commission for the fiscal year 2081/82, according to the Federal Parliament Secretariat.
