Three individuals arrested in alleged online gambling fraud operation

KATHMANDU: Police have arrested three individuals for allegedly orchestrating an online casino operation across multiple applications.

The arrested individuals include Pujan Sanwa, 25, originally from Mikwakhola Rural Municipality-1, Taplejung, presently residing in Kathmandu Koteshwar; Nishan Raj Karki, 21, a resident of Bagmati Municipality-7, Sarlahi, and Suryavinayak-4, Anamnagar, Bhaktapur; and Nishan Gautam, 25, hailing from Barathawa Municipality-11, Sarlahi, residing in Hirapur, Suryavinayak.

According to police, they are suspected of engaging in online gambling activities, placing bets on various games through platforms such as Cash App, Mickey Way, Farkirin, Ultra Panda, and others.

Acting on undisclosed intelligence, a collaborative effort from the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office and the joint team of Lalitpur Police led to the apprehension of the suspects from different locations within the valley on Wednesday.

The arrested individuals have been transported to the Teku Police Complex, where they await further legal action.
