Jhapa’s ‘Tapasyadham’ emerges as a spiritual tourism destination

JHAPA: The newly constructed ‘Tapasyadham’ in Mechinagar-10, Dhulabari, is fast becoming a destination for spiritual tourism.

Built by the Brahma Kumari Rajyoga Sewa Kendra at a cost of Rs 130 million, the Dham is located in Lilabasti, about one and a half kilometers north of the Dhulabari turn on the East-West Highway.

The impressive structure stands on five kattas of land generously donated by Nepali Congress Vice President Bishwa Prakash Sharma and his brother Rajya Prakash Sharma in memory of their late parents, Parshuram Sharma and Sabitra Devi.

According to Anusha Didi, administrator of the Dham and head of the Brahma Kumari Rajyoga Sewa Kendra Dhulabari, the complex includes a meditation room, penance hall, memorial of Prajapita Brahma Baba, residential quarters, and a seminar hall.

She added that the Dham is designed to provide facilities for domestic and international visitors seeking to reduce mental stress and gain spiritual knowledge through Rajyoga and meditation.

With replicas of key structures from the Brahma Kumaris’ international headquarters at Ishwariya University in Mount Abu, Rajasthan, India, the site is expected to attract spiritual tourists from both India and Nepal.

Recently, Mount Abu Rajayogini Usha Didi and Brahma Kumaris Rajyog Sewa Nepal Chief Dr. Raj Didi visited the temple.

Vice President Sharma, also a land donor, said the family contributed the land to honor his parents’ memory and promote peace and positive energy in society.
