Flight cancellations continue at TIA amid Middle East crisis

KATHMANDU: Escalating tensions in the Middle East have continued to disrupt operations at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) in Kathmandu, leaving hundreds of passengers stranded.

International flights have been canceled following the suspension of operations at several airports across the Gulf region, including Sharjah, Doha, Dubai, Kuwait City, Abu Dhabi and Dammam.

As a result, multiple outbound and inbound flights from Kathmandu were called off. Passengers have been stranded since Saturday, with many seen waiting in confusion at the airport on Sunday morning. Several cancellation notices were posted across the terminal.
