MCAP’s timeline extended for next five years



GORKHA: The Manaslu Conservation Area Project Office (MCAP), Gorkha, which was entrusted with the responsibility of conserving Manaslu area in northern Gorkha, has been given an extension after almost three and a half years of confusion.

The period has been extended for next five years. MCAP Chief Santosh Sherchan said, “There has been a problem due to confusion over whether the office will remain or not as the decision to extend the deadline has not been taken since June 2019”.

The cabinet meeting on last December 21 had decided to extend the timeline till mid-July 2028.

With this, it will be easier to work by preparing an action plan, he said. MCAP has been responsible for the conservation, promotion, promotion and management of Manaslu area.
