Two people die as motorcycle swept away by river



RUKUM WEST: Two individuals lost their lives when their motorcycle was washed away by the Rama river in Rukum West.

The incident occurred on the border of Musikot Municipality-6 and 7 last night.

The motorcycle, with license plate RA 6 Pa 2961, was swept away while traveling from Sankha village to Kanewang.

According to Information Officer and Police Inspector Bakhat Bahadur Shahi of the District Police Office Rukum West, the victims have been identified as 50-year-old Sarjan Pun of Musikot-4 and 32-year-old Nirmala KC Thapa of Musikot-6.

The police were alerted about the incident this morning.

They reported that Nirmala KC Thapa’s body was found 300 meters downstream, while Sarjan Pun’s body was located 20 meters downstream.
