Nakhhudol bridge awaits maintenance works

LALITPUR: The local residents in the Nakhhu area of Lalitpur district are facing hardships in their journey, as a bridge over the Nakhhu river has not been repaired for almost three and a half months since the September flooding.

The bridge that connects Nakkhudol in Lalitpur Metropolitan City-14 and Sainbu of ward no. 15 was damaged during the flooding that occurred in September 2024.

Currently, one-way traffic is managed for the two-wheelers with the help of some iron rods.

Umesh Thapa, a local resident, said they are compelled to travel almost one and a half kilometres to cross the river from the Nakhhu bridge since the authorities have not paid attention to repairing the Nakkhudol bridge.

The local residents shared that they have faced severe trouble in their journey along the route due to the poor condition of the bridge.

However, the ward chair of Lalitpur Metropolitan City-25, Daulat Kumar Khatri, assured that the bridge will be repaired soon as Rs 6.7 million has been allocated for the repair works.
