Weather: Rainfall expected this afternoon



KATHMANDU: Along with westerly winds and local winds, the low-pressure system formed around Bihar in India is having an impact in Nepal.

The country is currently experiencing partly to mostly cloudy conditions, with light rain accompanied by thunder, lightning, and gale occurring at one or two places, including in Koshi Province.

During the afternoon, the weather is expected to be partly to mostly cloudy across the country.

There’s a chance of light rain in a few areas, particularly in the remaining hilly regions like Koshi, Madhes, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces, along with a possibility of thunder and lightning in the Terai.

According to the Weather Forecast Division, there’s also a likelihood of light snowfall in some high hilly and Himalayan areas during the afternoon.

Tonight, partly to mostly cloudy conditions will continue nationwide.

The Division has forecasted a possibility of light to moderate rain accompanied by thunder, lightning, and windstorms in a few places across Koshi, Madhes, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, as well as in a couple of places elsewhere.

Similarly, the Division’s bulletin issued on Thursday morning has mentioned a possibility of light snowfall at night in a few locations in the high hilly and Himalayan areas of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces.
