Milan Devkota appointed Member-Secretary of Nepal Tourism Board

KATHMANDU: Milan Devkota has been entrusted with the role of Member-Secretary of the Executive Committee at the Nepal Tourism Board (NTB).

The decision was made during the 362nd meeting of the Board, convened this Thursday.

While currently serving as a board member, Devkota’s new responsibility as Member-Secretary is set to span a maximum of three months.

This appointment comes at a time where the position of the Executive Chief at NTB remains vacant.

The Ministry of Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation is yet to initiate the appointment process for this role.

As per the provisions outlined in sub-section (4) of section 9 of the Nepal Tourism Board Act, 2053, Milan Devkota will fulfill the duties of Member-Secretary of the Executive Committee until the appointment of the executive chief is finalized, with the interim period not exceeding three months.

Devkota had previously assumed the role of Executive Member of the Nepal Tourism Board’s Board of Directors.

Given his three-year tenure as a board member, Milan Devkota is now temporarily shouldering the responsibilities of both board membership and Member-Secretary.
