RPP leader Bista elected Speaker of Koshi Province Assembly



KATHMANDU: Ambar Bahadur Bista from Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) has been elected unopposed as the Speaker of the Koshi Province Assembly on Tuesday.

Srijana Danuwar, the Deputy Speaker, announced Bista’s uncontested election during the Provincial Assembly meeting held in Biratnagar today.

Earlier, Bhakti Sitaula, the leader of RPP parliamentary party in Koshi was the proposer and Prem Raj Thamsuhang the seconder of the proposal to make Bista the speaker.

The ruling coalition and the main opposition CPN-UML both supported Bista’s candidacy to let him go unopposed as the speaker.
