Deputy Commander of US Army Indo-Pacific Command arrives in Kathmandu



KATHMANDU: A six-member military team led by Lt. Gen. Joshua M. Rudd, Deputy Commander of the US Army’s Indo-Pacific Command, arrived in Nepal on Friday.

Invited by the Nepali Army, the high-level delegation landed in Kathmandu on a special flight on Friday afternoon.

The team includes four military officers and two crew members, and they were received at the airport by officials from the US Embassy.

According to security officials, the team is scheduled to meet with various dignitaries, including Chief of Army Staff Ashokraj Sigdel.

“There may also be meetings with the Prime Minister, Defense Minister, and Foreign Minister,” noted a security official familiar with the visit.

Cooperation between the Nepali Army and the US Army is ongoing in areas such as military training. Recently, several high-ranking US military officials have visited Nepal.
