Melamchi drinking water distribution begins in Kathmandu

KATHMANDU: The distribution of Melamchi water has commenced in the Kathmandu Valley.

Water Supply Minister Pradeep Yadav launched the initiative today from the processing center at Sundarijal in Kathmandu.

Ratna Prasad Lamichhane, Executive Director of the Melamchi Water Supply Development Committee, stated that water from the treatment center in Sundarijal has been sent to various distribution branches of Kathmandu Valley Water Supply Limited (KUKL).

Ashok Poudel, Chief Executive Director of KUKL, confirmed that with the arrival of Melamchi water, tap water distribution to the residents of Kathmandu Valley will soon begin.

On Monday night, Minister Yadav reached an agreement with the Melamchi Struggle Committee to facilitate water delivery to Kathmandu.

Following this, Melamchi water was transported to Sundarijal.

Minister Yadav, who promised to provide Melamchi water to the citizens before the Dashain festival, met with the struggle committee in Melamchi to discuss the matter.
