Chandragiri’s VLR report to be presented in UN



KATHMANDU: Chandragiri Municipality has prepared its Voluntary Local Review (VLR) report to localize some thematic areas of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The municipality came up with the report as an outcome document of arduous efforts in a year.

It includes the goals related to education, health, gender equality, drinking and hygiene, safe, clean and accessible city among others in the review.

The report has included the issues introduced by the municipality in its plans and implementation by localizing the goals.

Now the municipality is preparing to present the report to the United Nations. Chandragiri will be the second municipality to submit such a report.

It may be noted that Dhulikhel Municipality has already submitted the ‘VLR’ report.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Urban Development Prakash Man Singh, Chandragiri municipality Mayor Ghanshyam Giri, National Planning Commission member Dr Ramesh Prasad Singh, UN Resident Coordinator Hanna Singar-Hamdy, among others, jointly released the VLR report at a program organized on the occasion of World Habitat Day on Monday.

Mayor Giri informed that the municipality has prepared the ‘VLR’ report to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by 2030 and to localize them.
