Work of Tanahun hydropower project resumes

DAMAULI: The work of Package I of the 140 MW capacity Tanahun hydropower project under construction in Jhaputar of Rishing Rural Municipality-1 has resumed after 51 days.

The work on the project had been stalled due to a payment dispute.

Head of the project Shyamji Bhandari shared that the work by the joint venture construction company, Songda Kalika, has been re-commenced after the concerned bodies expressed their commitment to provide the due payment for the work through the European Bank.

Under Package I, so far only 35 percent progress has been achieved. Under this package, the construction of two diversion tunnels has been completed to divert the flow of water from the Seti river for the construction of 140 meters high dam of the project.
