Jayaprithvi Highway blocked again



BAITADI: The Jayaprithvi highway connecting Khodpe-Bajhang has been blocked again due to landslides collected after incessant rains.

The highway has been blocked since last night due to the landslide that came with the incessant rain.

Baitadi Police Spokesman, Inspector Balaram Pandey informed that the highway was blocked due to a landslide Sadighati, Patan Municipality-8 in the district.

With the blockade of the road section, the traffic on the highway is completely stopped and the passengers are stranded in the middle of the road.

Stating that efforts are being made to reopen the blocked highway, Pandey informed that there is a problem in removing the landslide due to continuous rain.

Earlier, the highway was closed due to a landslide at the same place on Sunday as well.

Meanwhile, the Chief District Officer Bhimkant Sharma has requested to take necessary precautions as it is raining continuously.

“We ask the general public not to travel except for urgent work”, he said, “We request all those working in security to take precautions and work accordingly as the situation has come to rescue.”
