Nepali basketball team to compete in University level tournament in China



KATHMANDU: A five-member Nepali basketball team has left for China to participate in the 6th Asian University 3×3 Basketball Tournament.

The tournament is being held in Putuo district, Zhoushan, Zhejiang Province of China from June 11 to 13.

Manish KC (Captain), Nikesh Rakhal Magar, Sudeep Paudel Chhetri and Shreyash Shah will represent Nepal in the tournament.

Sushil Gurung is the trainer and manager of the team.

It may be noted that Nepal had won gold medal in the Men’s 3 x 3 Basketball held in Yunnan, China last May.

Captain Manish and Nikesh were members of the team as well.

National Sports Council Member-Secretary Tanklal Ghising and President of Nepal Basketball Association Bhimsingh Gurung bid farewell to the team at a program held in the capital on Friday.
