By-election 2024: EC to review and publish candidates’ list today

KATHMANDU: The Election Commission (EC) is set to review the candidate list and publish it today.

The EC will review the list based on the objections registered against each candidate who has filed their nomination for the by-elections in Ilam-2 and Bajhang-1.

The Commission will scrutinize objections until 5 PM today, and if any objections against candidates are upheld, their names will be excluded before publishing the final candidate list.

Tomorrow, candidates will have the opportunity to withdraw their names if they wish, and the final candidate list along with election symbols will be published as per the Commission’s schedule.

Voting will take place from 7 am to 5 pm on April 27.

For the by-election, 20 candidates have registered their names in Ilam-2 and 12 in Bajhang-1.
