KATHMANDU: Pashupatinath Temple in Kathmandu witnessed an overwhelming influx of devotion, with more than 400,000 devotees converging to offer their prayers as of now on the occasion of Maha Shivaratri.

The temple experienced a surge in pilgrim activity from as early as 2 am, creating a bustling atmosphere in the Pashupati Area.

As of now, the footfall at Pashupatinath has reached a significant four lakh, as reported by Rewathi Raman Adhikari, Spokesperson of the Pashupati Area Development Trust.

The number of visitors has continued to rise, presenting a logistical challenge for security personnel tasked with managing the event.

Despite the proactive measure of opening all four gates of Pashupatinath at 2 am for the convenience of devotees, the crowd has shown no signs of abating.

Devotees had begun queuing up overnight, eagerly anticipating their turn for worshipping.

The Pashupati Area Development Truest has estimated that a staggering two million devotees will pay homage to the revered deity Pashupatinath by today.
