Nepal Scouts elections initiated after 12 years, 1613 candidates for local council members

KATHMANDU: Registration for candidacy in the local municipal council elections under the Nepal Scouts has been completed.

Central Election Committee Coordinator Mukunda Adhikari stated that 1613 individuals across the nation have submitted their candidacy for the position of local council members in the registration conducted on Sunday.

Four previous committees formed for election purposes after 2068 BS couldn’t conduct the Scout elections. However, there’s now an enthusiastic participation seen in the elections for local, provincial, and central council positions of the Nepal Scouts, nearly 12 years after the unsuccessful attempt of the fourth committee.

Following the previously scheduled election timetable by the Nepal Scouts, candidate registrations for local council member elections were completed on Sunday. The elections for the registered candidates will take place from January 12 to 14.

Nepal Scouts have announced that elections for provincial and central council positions will take place in Kathmandu.
