Monsoon influence expected to bring heavy rain today



KATHMANDU: The monsoon air continues to influence weather patterns across the country, according to the Weather Forecasting Division.

The Division has noted that there is partial to general cloud cover nationwide, with light rain observed in a few areas of the Bagmati, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces.

This afternoon, partly to mostly cloudy skies, are expected throughout the country.

Light to moderate rain, accompanied by thunder and lightning, may occur in some areas of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces, with isolated instances in other regions.

Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and potentially one or two locations in the hilly areas of Sudurpaschim Province could experience heavy rainfall.

Tonight, the weather will remain partly to mostly cloudy.

Light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning is likely in the hilly areas of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Karnali regions, with scattered showers in other areas.

Heavy rain may impact one or two locations in Bagmati and Karnali provinces.

In the next 24 hours, heavy rain is likely in Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and potentially one or two hilly areas of Sudurpaschim Province.

The Division has advised taking necessary precautions to mitigate risks of disasters such as landslides, floods, and soil erosion in these regions.
