Lawmaker Singh donates one-year remuneration to Tilganga Eye Institute

HETAUDA: President of the House of Representatives (HoR) Infrastructure Development Committee, Deepak Bahadur Singh donated his one-year remuneration to the Tilganga Institute of Ophthalmology, Kathmandu.

He handed over his one-year remuneration and plus amount totaling Rs 999,999 to the Tilganga Institute’s Executive Director Dr Sanduk Ruit through a cheque.

Parliamentary member Singh who won election from the Makwanpur constituency 1 said he donated the amount as declared during the parliamentary election to provide the financial benefits received from the parliament for the development of social organizations.

He pledged to continue donating the remuneration he is entitled to receive.

Dr Ruit, on the occasion, said the donation received from the parliamentary member Singh would be utilized for the construction of a building being built in Hetauda sub-metropolis-3, Basamadi for manufacturing eye lenses.

He said it would be focused on giving new life to the citizens of disadvantaged and marginalized community of all seven provinces through eye surgery and treatment.
