Bodies of people missing in landslide retrieved in Tanahu



DAMAULI: The bodies of all three people, who were missing after a landslide buried a house at Kaure, Shuklagandaki municipality-7 in Tanahu on Saturday, have been found.

Among them, the body of one person was retrieved on Saturday night and those of remaining two persons this morning, said Deputy Superintendent of Police Deepak Raya of the District Police Office, Tanahu.

Raya said the bodies of 40-year-old Hira Nepali, 65-year-old Shyam Bhandari and 37-year-old Anisha Bastola have been found and sent to the hospital for post-mortem examination.

Nepali, Bhandari and Bastola went missing when a landslide buried the houses of Hira Nepali and Suna Maya Kumal.

When the disaster hit, they had joined the locals in bringing goods from inside the houses.

Bishnu Bahadur Nepali, 40; Bishal Timilsina, 26; Rabi Ghimire, 35; Rup Kumari Nepali, 18 and Bimal Nepali 15, have been injured in the disaster.

They are being treated at the GP Koirala Respiratory Diseases Treatment Centre at Belchautara, Shuklagandaki municipality-5.
