Disrupted power equation spells trouble for Nepal’s prosperity: UML Chair Oli

CHITWAN: The CPN-UML Chairman KP Oli has expressed dissatisfaction with the political instability prevailing in the country.

Speaking to journalists in Chitwan on Friday, he stressed the importance of establishing stability rather than perpetuating instability.

“No one has a majority in the seven provinces and the center, which leads to instability. In this situation, no one can be happy or content,” he stated, adding, “Due to constitutional and legal provisions, no one has the majority, so it’s necessary to move forward with a national perspective.”

Highlighting the increasing instability due to the lack of maturity in the political parties, Oli urged for the national politics to be responsible and mature.

He emphasized the need for the current ruling coalition to move forward without causing any disruption.

“There were some parties with plans not to give confidence in the current coalition, but they were not successful. If the current equation collapses, the country won’t prosper, so the disruption of this equation won’t lead to any positive outcomes,” Oli expressed.

Additionally, he commented on the budget brought by the government, stating that it must be good for the country, or else it’s not favorable.

In a different context, Oli maintained that it’s a tradition for Nepali Prime Ministers to attend the swearing-in ceremonies of Indian Prime Ministers, and the current Prime Minister should adhere to this tradition.
