“Investment-friendly climate created with formation of new government”

KATHMANDU: Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Deepak Khadka has said that a climate for investment has been created I the country with the formation of new government.

Inaugurating the ‘Third Power Light and Electric Exhibition’ organized by Media Space Pvt Ltd at local Bhrikutimandap today, he said a credible environment has been created from the economic, social and political point of view with the formation of the new government.

“The present government has been formed with the two big political parties forming a coalition. Even the citizens have trust on the new government and it creates an investment-friendly environment in the country,” he said, adding that this government has the responsibility of taking the country ahead towards economic development.

Minister Khadka also called on the national and international investors to invest in Nepal without any hesitation as the present government is a stable government.

He expressed the belief that the trade expo such as this one which brings together many companies at one place will help reinvigorate the economic activities, adding the expo related to electric appliances will help increase the domestic consumption of hydroelectricity.

The Energy Minister shared on the occasion that since the nation has the objective of producing 28,500 MW power in the next 10 years, the support and cooperation of the private sector was required to that end.

He also said the government is in the process of revising and amending the laws and policies that are a hindrance to the development of the energy sector.

More than 90 stalls of domestic and international companies have been kept in the exhibition that will run for three days, said Shreejal Bhattarai, Manager of Media Space.
