Govt firm on preventing and ending corruption, says PM Oli

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has asserted the government’s firm commitment to preventing, controlling, and eradicating all forms of corruption.

During a meeting of the State Affairs and Good Governance Committee under the House of Representatives, PM Oli clarified the objectives and reasons for amending the Prevention of Corruption Act, 2059.

He reiterated that the current government is dedicated to rooting out corruption.

“Zero tolerance for corruption is the government’s policy. It is essential to control corruption to achieve the national aspiration of ‘Prosperous Nepal, Happy Nepali.’ I will not involve myself in corruption and will not allow others to do so,” stressed PM Oli.

He explained that amending the Act is necessary to control corruption and maintain good governance, with the ultimate goal of leading the country towards prosperity.

PM Oli emphasized that the government’s top priority is to ensure social justice, maintain peace and security, and act in the best interests of the nation and its people.

He added that the government is striving to establish the principle that everyone is equal before the law.
