Chitwan Cricket conducts O Level Umpire and Scorer Training

BHARATPUR, CHITWAN: The Chitwan District Cricket Association, in collaboration with Bharatpur Metropolitan City, organized training for O Level Umpires and Scorers on Tuesday.

The training commenced at the Gautam Buddha International Cricket Stadium in Ward 15 of Bharatpur and continued from Sunday.

The coaching, led by international-level umpires Vinay Kumar Jha and Mohammad Shafiq, covered 42 rules and amendments introduced by the International Cricket Council (ICC) in 2017.

In the closing ceremony, the President of Bharatpur Metropolitan Sports Development Committee, Bikas Shrestha, expressed that this training initiative marked the first-ever production of cricket officials in the district, aligning with the plan to collaborate with the District Cricket Association.

Shrestha highlighted that the expertise gained by sports officials through this training program will contribute significantly to the proper development of various sports in the region.

Following the conclusion of the training, the Chitwan District Cricket Association plans to utilize the newly trained sports officials in the Bharatpur Mayors Cup Inter-College Cricket Tournament scheduled to begin on February 9.
