Jhalnath Khanal seeks PM Oli’s resignation

KATHMANDU: Jhala Nath Khanal, a leader of the  Communist Party of Nepal (Unified Socialist), has demanded the resignation of Prime Minister K.P. Sharma Oli.

During a food distribution event for flood victims in Balkhu, Kathmandu, on Saturday, Khanal stated that the government’s inadequate preparation for natural disasters has resulted in significant loss of lives and property, leading to the public facing serious issues. He insisted that the current government should resign.

Khanal stressed that the government has lost its credibility, and urged that the path for the people to establish their own government must be opened. He remarked that the current administration has completely failed, calling on opposition parties to step up and take action.

He pointed out that despite warnings from meteorologists about the possibility of heavy rainfall, the government failed to prepare adequately in a timely manner, which resulted in substantial losses.
